Toys-To-Tech

I'm probably not going to continue this, but it's all I had at the moment.

  1. Robert,
I really enjoy this concept of toys to tech idea! It's a idea that not many people think about how children are playing with toy cell phones, laptops, and many other things that when they get older are actual technology and are used in everyday life for work. This work looks very clean and well put together I enjoy the merging of the play lap top for the child and the actual lap top for a grown adult. The focal point of the piece is the lap top which I personally enjoy and would not change it's not too busy and it gets the point across short and sweet!

  2. Very cool image. The fade from the laptop to the legos is a great idea. I interpret this image as people always referring to new gadgets as toys, and also getting tired of the old toy/gadget and wanting a new one. The fade from the legos to the laptop looks nice, but if you decide to use this image, I would suggest you work on the fade from the keyboard to the legos.

  3. I like this! Its a great idea! Its funny because my oldest son, 8, asked for a cell phone rather than a toy! I see this as technology is now replacing the old toys! It a fun piece! I like the bright colors of the legos vs the grays and blacks of the mac! I think you could tweek it a little bit to morph the legos into the mac... like the mouse pad or even the keys! But I really enjoy this idea so far! I automatically look at the legos and then to the rest of the laptop...I like the white background, it helps to bring your focus to the idea. Great job! Can't wait to see the ending!

  4. When I look at your work, I get a sense of humor. Not the humor that literally makes me laugh, but a kind of pun. I arrived at this interpretation because of the combination of the images of the laptop and the lego laptop. The transition of the laptop from a tool to a toy (or vice-versa) makes it seem like the internal components are legos or something for creativity and enjoyment. The brightly colored legos also contribute to the playfulness.

I know this is an "in-the-making" image and you may not choose to expand on this project, but your work so far appears to be very clean. I appreciate the lego idea because legos have been a very big part of my childhood.

The focal point is quite obvious, since there is only one object in the image. The legos seem out of place, but that is the point of the piece, I think.
